Behind The Ear

A BTE aid sits behind the ear and are discreet and comfortable. These generally utilise an individual personalised ear mould/ earpiece attached to the hearing aid by a plastic flexible tube. They can fit a wide range of hearing losses from mild to profound losses.

 

Regular changes of the tube and mould may be necessary to keep the hearing aid running at it’s optimum performance. They need to be regularly maintained as they are susceptible to both moisture and ear wax blockage or damage.

Most BTE aids use a larger battery which may mean less battery changes. They are also available in rechargeable options – which means no more battery changes and enhanced moisture protection.
